We often come across the issue of low internet speed. And we fail to understand what’s wrong with the connectivity. We don’t try to find the actual problem and we blame our networks. That’s not always right. Our networks might be doing well but not our laptop/mobile phone. Sometimes we take smaller issues for granted and we often neglect those as well. Wherever we use the internet, on mobiles or laptops, maximizing the speed of the internet is the most important step to get a faster computing experience.
- The very first step would be to understand the cause of slow internet speed. Some of these problems are low internet speed from ISP, old software (the one you are using), downloads that are taking place on a particular point, interference if signals, etc.
- Internet speed must be checked
- We must check our plan (service plan) to what we are paying for and also actual speed. And also the internet must be upgraded.
- Stay close to Wi-Fi or your mobile connectivity, whichever is used.
- A router must be kept in such a position that it is visible from where it is to be used.
- Connect your Wi-Fi to only those laptops or mobile which is to be used. That’s because if several traffic increases then automatically the internet will slow down.
- Ethernet can also be used instead of Wi-Fi. This will not connect your mobile phones but using it will remove the time needed by the computer to receive a signal and the router departing its signal for sure.
- Replace the hardware which is old enough. Routers, if old enough then it must be replaced.
- Another most common thing which we often do is restarting our router. Also, internet-connected items can be restarted.
- Wi-Fi range extender comes in handy when we want to make sure if Wi-Fi reaches properly. This extender amplifies the signal, making it available to all those places, previously unavailable.
- Update your device (computer/laptop/mobile), internet browser. Antivirus software is to be run as well. Because the virus comes into our devices, as soon as we access our internets.
- Another important step would be to clear our browser’s cached files. Also, toolbars are to be removed from the browser, which does no good to our internet speed.
- Use faster browsers such as Google Chrome, Firefox.
The aforementioned steps generally can help you with the problem. Now I’ll mention a few steps which you can follow to increase internet speed in your mobile phones (androids):
- Close all background apps, which runs on your phone even if you are not using them.
- You can use a data-saving app to maintain a steady speed.
- Make sure that you delete all unused apps. This not only saves storage but also gives you better speed.
- You must have seen an advertisement that comes along with our browsers or anything that we view online.
- Wi-Fi can be used if your mobile data does not give you the required speed.
- Select a browser for your phone that is faster.
- Lastly, don’t forget to clear the cache from your phone.
All of us love the internet because it helps us in every aspect of life, making our life easier. But along with good things, the not so good issue of slow internet comes with it naturally. But we must be intelligent enough to do things right at the right time and get rid of it. I hope this article helps you.
